Can a Short Film bring out the experience of a full-fledged feature film to you? Of Course, Mama Jeevana Hethuna (the Sanskrit language translated to English as “The Foundation of Life”). Very few films have worked out the exercise of bringing the cinematic experience in the representation of Short films.
Story of the film:
Attention, Priority, Time! The three words are from the thesaurus of the word “Love”. According to women, attention must be the first priority. According to men, giving attention along with a valid economy needed for life is the first priority. A battle between a successful filmmaker Arjun (Vijjith) and his wife Priya (Vidhya Vijay) of their impairment from the three-year marriage, comes to the epilogue of “what would it be” in a night drive to the parental home of Priya.
Ensuring the chemistry between the two-person on the on-screen is not dramatic stuff. Creating a soul for the character of the performance, bringing it along to our mind at the end of the film, making it relatable to our life is the strong foundation this film will make to us.
Priya feels drying out of the relationship she struggled hard to get married to her person of choice. Her lover, Arjun on the other hand comes to the sophisticated status in the society of being a filmmaker has made a lot of surprises for his wife Priya. But, Priya has a bigger surprise for her husband than his preparation for heer. Being moved out of her marriage and seeking divorce is the surprise she has in her hand. Will the strings attached or impaired be the surprise you need to watch it!

A parallel screenplay of an interview with Arjun and the unbelievable confession of Priya’s decision to her neighbor makes us stick to the film where we are engaged with “Who will remove the bell from the cat?!”
Arjun surpassed the decision of Priya and without remorse, anger, an exhibition of betrayal he plays cool himself to not let Priya go away from him. Convincing the arc of the male protagonist without letting his respect, dignity and the sounding true arc of the female protagonist with reasonable reason are the strongest pillars of the film.
What’s with the film, Happy Married Life:
Only well-crafted writing can give an excellent performance on the screen by the entire effort of making it. One in fifteen of our friends would have the ambition of becoming a filmmaker. Either we have it. What Fate contains for those who wish to do something in the field of the film industry runs a goosebump in us. Same Arjun experiences the same in the film by lacking enough time with his time, forgetting to fulfill her priority. Even though Priya is so adamant in her nature, we fall in love with her like we need a girl like Priya to convince for love. Opposite, Arjun creates the impact that they need a guy like him with two factors patience
and passion. As said, when the crisis of the film opens, dealing with the diplomatic situation we are into the film already. We are just a foot away from the climax of the film.
Critic’s view and Appreciation:
A good story can have extraordinary making. A splendid story can have better making. A bitter story can have excellent making. It all depends on the hands of the maker of the film. In that case, Gowtham Manivannan did a great job in writing and executed his direction in the exact perfection of writing in the making. As a majority of the film takes place in the night, that too a single night, the mood of creating an ambiance with colorful background reflections, M A Anand is the catalyst of the film with his Cinematography. He has a strong skill to make a lot of films. The breaking point of Arjun and Priya’s unparalleled thinking is the best part of the film to make it engaging till the end. The editing of the film should be given applause to Nagooran. Karthika Tamilselvan’s Costume is not alone stylish but also an eyesight admiration for the film. Music by Vignesh Baskaran along with Lyricist Yatharthakavi Pravin Kumar S created a soul for the film and completed its necessity to watch.
Overall Mama Jeevana Hethuna is a performance-packed, musical, heartwarming art of two couples who balance their passion and patience with the great effort of adjustment and has a different impact on different kinds of people.
