Understanding the core content: How violence influence people

Appreciation and Critics:

First, I would like to give an age restriction for this film. This film had both the pros and cons and the major advantages of this Pastiche Crime Horror Short film are camera quality and frames and lighting. In the first few frames, we can tell that this film it’s going to entertain us for sure. This film has both protagonist and antagonist.

The Protagonist is the person who cares for his family but in the first frame, he loses his job. In the second frame, his wife and his son Adam were in their home. The character design of Adam was interesting in that he is a stubborn and disrespectful teenager who always messes up his room. Then, the mother scolds him for messing up everything, and here is the interesting part that Adam shows his middle finger to his mother. Here we can assume that Adam is an arrogant teenager. Then mother went to the kitchen and started preparing pinafore that night but accidentally she cut her finger while slicing a vegetable. I thought that Adam was the key character of this film, but the sliced vegetable which had the bloodstain of the mother has an important role than Adam.

In between there comes few frames which show the antagonist and his interest in violence. news in that the important element in this script is the television. The antagonist is admiring the violence that is shown on television. Similarly, during the introduction of Adam, he was watching television. The antagonist’s father beat him badly for watching the drama and that incident remained deep inside his mind. The antagonist was thinking these things while waiting for someone to open the door outside Adam’s house.

The protagonist calls his wife and says that he is returning home and while returning home he’ll buy dinner for them. So, she skipped her dinner preparation. Mother cuts her finger, so she asked Adam to throw the garbage in the garbage bin outside the gate. A few of the shots show that the antagonist loves violence through his father and through the dramas he saw through television during his childhood. So, here the director wants to convey the message that whatever we do in our childhood or whatever we admire is what is going to decide our future. We can also take this content as an indirect message to the upcoming generation that it should grow itself with humanity.

Then Adam opened the door and came out, put the garbage in the bin, and returned. Here, the antagonist gets a chance to enter the house, and while Adam returns to the door, the antagonist stuffs a white cloth on his face and drags him inside. We can assume it is anesthesia chloroform.

We may wonder what is the motive of the antagonist to avenge the protagonist’s family. With this doubt, the film goes on. Immediately in the next frame, the protagonist arrives at his house, opens the door with the key he has, and searches for everyone inside the house. But the whole house was stranded. The protagonist saw the blood-stained sliced vegetable on the floor and asked his wife not to play with him. He went to Adams’s room. His reactions are changing, and it makes the audience predict what might have happened within 2 seconds. Adam was killed and his blood was over the bed. The protagonist was shocked and shouted, searching for his wife but the antagonist knocked his head with a glass.

Till this, thePastiche Crime Horror Short film went interesting, and including the lighting was very effective for the script. The script has its dark element in locations and lighting. Each element complemented the script very well. The only thing that I felt bad about was the role of Adam.

The antagonist was torturing the protagonist. He tied the protagonist in the chair and knocked, kicked, stuffed cloth in his mouth. He was being tortured and at the same time, he was looking for his wife. While the protagonist asks him about his wife why he didn’t about his son. The antagonist killed his son, so obviously, the protagonist should ask why the antagonist killed his son and who he is. The next frame shows that 2 persons entered the house. This is the twisted plot of this film.

The second antagonist was torturing his wife and the primary antagonist was torturing the protagonist. This twist is quite interesting while watching the film and triggers the doubt again that why these two people should torture this family. The Pastiche Crime Horror Short film is filled with violence and disturbing content. Because there comes a scene where the antagonist stuff the bottle inside the protagonist’s anal. And, when he pulls it out, the bottleneck is full of blood. So, I recommend children not to watch. One of the protagonists missed his knife and the protagonist got that.

Here is the second question that arises. The protagonist got that knife when he was down. when the antagonist asked him to remove his pants he should have engaged. Why the protagonist hesitated to engage till the antagonist stuff the bottle in his anal. If he wants to engage, he should have engaged it before, or the knife shouldn’t be with him in the script. So, in this place, I felt the script was not filled enough or failed to explain to the audience. The antagonist came to know that the knife is missing and worried so much. So here the director clearly explained the character of the antagonist that he is somewhat mentally unstable or mentally pulled towards the love on violence. By using this chance, the protagonist finally had a chance to stand against a knife and fake revolver. somehow, they managed to escape from the knot. But they cannot engage them. Later, there is a video camera recording all these in the corner of the room. Those antagonists were saying that they were going to be popular after this violent raid. They have recorded everything on camera and they went out. Then the film ends. So, it is like, they are doing it for popularity and they want to enjoy the violence against others.

The advantage of this Pastiche Crime Horror Short film is the acting of the artist, camera quality, frames that the cinematographer provided, lightings and colors that the team exposed, and dialogues, music, and sound effects. No way the film had compromised with these technical qualities. All the technical aspects are very mature and of high quality. But regarding the script, in a few areas, I felt the script was not fulfilled and failed to explain to the audience the exact scenario. The success of a script is it should explain to the audience even without dialogues. Few questions like, why the protagonist didn’t ask him about his son, why in the climax both couples didn’t worry about his son or the director showed a frame about Adam. Adam is the key character who lets the antagonists enter the home. Though he had valuable importance at the end the director should have shown or included about Adam. Thus, the key element was missing. And as I said when he got the knife why he didn’t take any action, and no one knows the reason for this.

Music and sound effects complimented very well, and it should be noted. Nowhere the sounds are disturbing the scene and sound effects are in range. Editing lifted the quality of this movie. These technical aspects are the main advantages of this film.

I appreciate the team for using the colors cleverly and all other technical elements. Though the film had few cons, worth the time for those who love crime and violence. I recommend children emotionally weak people not to watch this film because of bloodstains and violence. I would give age restrictions to 15+ for this film. Congratulations to the crew for making a wonderful film.
