High School Love Story – Love requires no expectation and you can watch HSLS with the same expectation.
The very beginning of the film shows how Xiaonan, the female protagonist of the film carries her efforts of making breakfast to her school crush (we can see, she prays to the god to make him her boyfriend) in the early morning. At the alternate time, the Director portrays that the male protagonist Zhou Rui was asleep and never resisting his alarm, he was not ready to give up his deep sleep. The actor’s not-living-with-parents ambiance made us believe the film justifies the Xiaonan’s efforts are worthy of the story.
The two youngsters whose world of the time was spent mostly in high school had become engrossed with internet games and fell prey to the beautiful words. Xiaonan hid her identity in the internet game and engrossed in the conversation chat box of the game connecting with her high school to-be-boyfriend Zhou Rui. He secretly started admiring the stranger girl when she sent him a text addressing him as her Husband. A kinky part of the conversation, highly preserving the identity, the what-next expectation of Zhou Hui added spice to the film. You cannot jump to the next minute without knowing the elaborative detail of the present scene.
Zhou Hui’s close friend helped him to get dressed with his money and styled his hair and face. Love demanded it. Yeah! He was all set to witness the lovely face of his internet love girl on the day of Christmas as they planned in the chatbox of internet gaming. Zhou Hui was surprised to see Xiaonan was there and at the moment he found she was the one for him as well as she was the one who played with him in online gaming.
Zhou Hui gave him a gift with a word to open when he goes to his home.
He accepted her as his girlfriend but not confessed to her. One sudden day, when he fainted in the class the opening shot was replayed to remember us that he was suffering from some sleeping disorder or disease (Which they haven’t clearly talked about) Xiaonan carries him with her arm and back to the hospital, saving his life. the hesitation of Zhou Hui vanished and he momentarily confessed his love, asked her for a date on the new year. Although he asked for a date, we have a question in our mind, why does Zhou Hui think a minute to accept Xiaonan? Why has Xiaonan’s rescue of her classmate been shown? What happened to Zhou Hui? Two of the three questions have the answers in the film. For the third, the film ends with the words …to be continued.

The cinematography of the film escalated the location they shot, and tried to convey the location they were to the wide range of audience without the mark of address. Braised Pork, Eggplant, Sauerkraut, and East Sprinkles were some food which showed and talked about in this film is mouth-watering the watchers. Always the food and place convey the culture and habit of the people in the film. They have done it with perfection. Music is good and on a measuring scale. Editing of the film endures us to watch the film but should have cut a shot till to make it pecky. Overall the High School Love Story is a short film that plays the flute in our heart beyond the language but the continuity of a film seems we have to hook up with a film to know more about the upcoming events.
