There are 3 ways to qualify your short film for the 93rd Oscar Animation & Live Action Short Film. You have to win a student award at their Student Academy Awards, rent a theatre for a week in Los Angeles to screen your short, or win an award at a qualifying film festival.
How do short films get into the Oscars?
To submit a short film, Every year you need to go and visit submissions.oscars.org and register your film and request access to either the Animated Short Film or Live Action Short Film category. Once approved, you’ll receive an automated email with instructions.
