About Open Doors BAFTA Qualifying Indian Documentary:

Open Doors, an Indian Documentary film directed by courageous filmmaker Ms. Priyanka Bina Jasani that takes you to the doorstep of Ambedkar Nagar, Karnataka.

Happy life with minimal money and a comfortable life with simple living is their love and need.

One of the best documentary films I have seen in my life. The fascination of burgeon from four huts to five hundred families in a piece of land runs a marathon of goosebumps in us. Split culture of living, poverty above the line, right of education, living experience is enough for living, healthy surroundings, quality education, proper deliverance of needings for the people, the abolishment of discrimination is not they expect to do, their rights to get.

Sponsored Hindi short film from Shortfundly OTT:

Born in the same land and living in the same land is enough to set their rights. Some people living in Ambedkar Nagar state that this the Government’s play to roll the dice in their living for their political game.

Ms Ashwathamma, a late forty woman proclaims their Ambedkar Nagar is an origin of four families with four huts, now transformed to more than five hundred families residing for their survival. The place is not painted with dust, it is colored with the smiles of children, the unexpectedness of women, and the sustainable income of men.

Mr. Venkatesh, Master of Economics aged 21, yearns he needs to make an empty garage in their society land into a library to educate the children and young people in their area. A library can transform a human being into a living being with a soft heart and a rational mind. Being considered their state as illegible to perceive, Venkatesh confesses the assertive statement which has made his heart as well as our heart heavy. “I don’t see money and achievement as being the same. People’s respect for money is not greater than or the least equal to their achievement.”

Achievement doesn’t deserve discrimination, it expects one and only eligibility and the best. The political people aspired to take over a religious event, social gathering, election campaign, and festivals in their area didn’t care to enquire about their well-being, what is their need, where education has brought to all people.

Basavanna, Ambedkar, and Gautama Buddha are their only god and religion.

Even though Dr. Ambedkar said in a constitution to give facilities and resources for 10 years to them, Politicians have been playing a game in their life for long years is their long-lasting misery, they stated.

With the irritation that occurred due to the irresponsible activities from the government, few people in Ambedkar Nagar feel that education has nothing to do with their rights. Ashwathamma states that she can handle a situation in the courtroom, police station, and hospital without education but with the gain of knowledge in a particular domain to survive their living. When the question of “Why are the doors opened in your housing area?”, a common woman’s justification brings a flicker of immense happiness among us. I feel I need to live a life with her principal. Money needs protection, multiple lockers to secure. “I have nothing to lose in my hand. The money will not be a reason to barge in my home at night. I earn Rs.8000 per month, it is sustained completely for our living, eating and paying our children’s needs”, at the end of her declarative statement, a glee in the corner of her lips could be seen.

Let us hope Venkatesh’s ambition to come into the chair of authority and improvise the community’s people with the tag of ‘SC people’, ‘Scheduled Castes’ to the rights of equality, education, and equilibrium. Caste & Discrimination is still being an infectious disease in our country is a long-term miserable event we are witnessing. Their Strength and Smile are the courage we never can have is the hope we can see in them to brighten their future.

Open Doors BAFTA Qualifying Indian Documentary takes you to the place by the vivid Cinematography of Tanvi Chowdhury. Her angle of projection and lens played a vital role in this film. As the Director of the film, Priyanka handles the part of Editing and realistic Sound Designing. And kudos to Waivasvata Manu and Harsha Yellapragada for being an Associate Director and transcription to make the Subtitles speak the language of common people to the global language to reach a wide range of audience. The hard-hitting reality of the dwelling people in Ambedkar Nagar shows patriotism to the country, dejection by the political people in the same country. The apprehension of education and diversity of voices is theOpen Doors. When you need less, you have more hope!
