I loved the film. Yes, I’m telling you that I love this film Aye Mohabbat. I enjoyed watching this short film. The length of this film is a positive and a plus point. Anisur Rahman, who is the director of this film, directed it very well. The concept is very good in the first place. The cinematography and the sounds and the editing were so apt for the script and the film comes out well, to be honest. It wasn’t like a director from a first-time filmmaker.

The detailing in this film was very clean and visible. In the title itself, they mentioned the year 1947. So, the film tells the story in the period of 1947. In the first frame itself, the color of the film attracted me very much. The first frame focuses on the radio and the protagonist tuning it and the radio playing an old song. This element is attractive in this film. Also, I have noticed that nowhere in the location are today’s materials except the cigarette. To my knowledge, the cigarette stuffing type is not the one which was made in those days.

The type of cigs is not the same which people use now. I would be happy if the cigarette was brown to match the cigs which were used in those days. Even the British people were used to smoking with a pipe. So nowhere a white cig was used. The glass and the other materials we can give an exception. Because a normal man who lives inside a small room cannot afford the glass and alcohol easily. In those days, liquor was packed in a plastic packet and sold, or people used to buy in a tin or container. Also, people used to drink organic liquors from palm trees and from farm trees. Somewhere these liquors are sold illegally to people. So, I was a little unsatisfied with the drinking and smoking concept. But I would be satisfied if the person was in a huge house and drinking with the same brittle glass. Because people with enough wealth were able to buy glasses and that kind of liquor.

Then the protagonist sees a picture that was hung on the wall and wipes his tears. I love the frame of those wall pictures. Also, the calendar states the date 1947. These few details of this film were good. The radio then informed the news about a riot happening somewhere near the protagonist’s house. Then he was searching for the dragger. Speaking about the lighting, it was great, and I’m satisfied. But in one place I’m not satisfied. The area where the protagonist took the dragger. That one place alone, the lighting was not sufficient.

The reason for the riot is what actually happened in real life. The story was very good because it happened in real life. So, the strength of the story is good. The major part of this film is the relationship between the friends and the memories between them. One is Hindu, and the other is Muslim. This is where the director can have a wide range of scripting freedom. But also, the director must focus more on how to handle the content in a good manner.

The most important thing that the film conveyed is that; it talks about drinks. When the two friends were speaking, they gave a piece of great advice on drinking. Everyone should listen to that advice which has the strength in it. I was admiring the dialogue. Apart from that, the music also complimented very well with the screen. So, I’m satisfied with the music.

Now the climax part was very good. There was no heavy message. But the hidden emotion it conveyed is huge. It is just the impact of the words which the friend said. So that one murder questioned most of the social behaviors. It questions friendship. It questions trust. It questions the religion and the violence created with the name of religion. It questions society and the mindset of people about what is more important than religion. It questions all the social evils with the stabbing of his friend. Also, the friend choked his neck and the counter killed him. They both murdered each other and fell with a bloodstream. The idea of showing it in black & white was good. It was good that the team showed it b/w.

Though few of the areas I was not satisfied with, most of the areas I enjoyed the film and it was good enough for the normal audience to enjoy the film. I enjoyed the film very much. Thanks to the team for making a good film.
