Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios have developed the animated science-fiction action-adventure film Lightyear. Lightyear movie is a Toy Story spin-off that centers on the character Buzz Lightyear. Galyn Susman produced the film, which was co-written by Angus MacLane and marked his directorial debut.

The protagonist of the story is the renowned space ranger Buzz Lightyear, who sets out on an interstellar journey with the help of his robot sidekick Sox and the aspirational recruits Izzy, Mo, and Darby.
This crew must learn to cooperate with one another as they take on their most challenging task yet in order to survive the pursuit of the wicked Zurg and his loyal robot army, who are always close by.

Appreciation and Critics:
The Lightyear is a Disney-Pixar movie in history to involve a LGBTQ relationship. To see this in Disney movie for first time got me emotional. This is a great progress in my point of view, and literally a teaching material for kids to understand that people can fall in love with their same gender as well. Other than that, the story is really well done with quite exciting twists.
Lightyear was theatrically released in the United States on June 17, 2022, by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The film was made available on Disney+ on August 3, 2022, with the option to view the IMAX enhanced version.
