Gowtam Tinnanuri is the writer and director of the Bollywood sports-drama Jersey. Gowtam’s 2019 Telugu movie of the same name is being remade for his Bollywood directorial debut. Rob Miller of ReelSports is the director and choreographer of the cricket action. Production companies for the movie include Geetha Arts, Dil Raju Production, Sithara Entertainments, and Brat Films.

Jersey Movie Plot:
A talented but unsuccessful cricketer, Arjun chooses to pick up the sport again in his late thirties in order to represent the Indian cricket team and grant his son’s demand for a shirt. Arjun, a former cricketer who is currently struggling to make ends meet, must choose whether to return to the game he loves in order to grant his son’s request for a jersey.

Appreciatio and Critics:
Jersey is a motivational sports film. Shahid Kapoor gave perhaps one of his best performances. With films like Chak De India, Baag Milka Baag, Dhoni, and Dangal Jersey, audiences will remember them for a very long time. The background music throughout the film is superb, and there are many lovely scenes. Even those with no prior knowledge of cricket will find enjoyment and inspiration. Additionally, the storyline and direction should be admired.
On its first day, Jersey brought approximately 3.75 crore at the Indian box office, bringing the overall weekly revenue to 14.75 crore. Released on April 22, 2022, Jersey had its Netflix debut on May 20, 2022.
