Android Kunjappan 5.25 Movie Review
Sci-fi drama! I know it is a bit late. I am watching this movie almost 2 years later. I just didn’t know what to expect. It was on my watchlist for a while. The movie turned out to be a pleasant surprise in handling subjects like human emotions, the generation gap, and personal values. It almost felt like the Android which was named kunjappan had a distinct personality in the beginning, and it did seem a bit weird that in the end kunjappan spoke very objectively. The most wonderful thing about Malayalam movies is the narration. They don’t spoon feed the audience much, they highlight the little ironies of life in a very non-intrusive manner and add very subtle emotions in the mix. All classic movies have an ambiguous ending. When Bhaskaran cries out on his son’s shoulder while uttering Android Kunjappan’s name, I see it as a projection of his idealistic version of “A” son onto his actual son.
If we all feel that we need a robot of this sort at home, we are only projecting an image of an idealistic companion.
Excellent movie.

SIR Movie Review
This movie is a subtle drama about the social divide and the forbidden thing that is love. I loved Tilothama Shome all through the movie. The movie didn’t get crass or out of plot at any point. When handling complex human drama, it always helps to go deeper and more into the details of day to day events and its impact on different people with a different social conditioning. I would have had a different ending to this movie, but all is fair in love and war. Another excellent movie.
