The 7th edition of the Rolling Reels Film Festival, RRIFF 2021, was announced on September 28th, offering young, aspiring filmmakers a chance to catch their big break and win prizes worth INR 60K along the way. With the deadline extended to November 6th, participants could perfect their entry without rushing the production process.
The diverse panel of highly eminent judges was announced on November 17th – film and television actor Delhi Ganesh, Tamil film director Madhumita Sundararaman and cinematographer Sivakumar Vijayan. The top ten short films were shortlisted as finalists at RRIFF 2021.
The rolling reels film festival was inaugurated on 20th November and set off 2 days of film extravaganza for cinema lovers. Participants were treated to a panel discussion featuring Madhumita Sundararaman and director-screenwriter Rajesh Selva on the topic of how the COVID-19 pandemic affected cinema. Sivakumar Vijayan also graciously hosted a cinematography workshop, sharing his expertise and years of experience on the 21st of November.
The valediction of the rolling reels film festival took place with Mr Delhi Ganesh as the chief guest who announced the final winners in the various categories of the competition drawing the event to a grandiose success.
