You can watch a plethora of Korean Dramas on Netflix, songs like “Goblin,” “Boys Over Flowers,” “Start Up,” “Crash Landing on You,” “Love Alarm,” “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” “100 Days My Prince,” “Itaewan Class,” “Mr. Sunshine,” “Hospital Playlist,” “Record of Youth,” “Something in the Rain,” “The Heirs,” and more…

You’ve probably seen a show even as a die-hard fan of K-dramas and thought, “That makes no sense, though.” You’re welcome, then.

Stranger (2017) – IMDB rating 8.5/10

Storyline: A prosecutor who has lost the ability to feel empathy takes on a murder case among political corruption with the aid of a brave female investigator.

Stranger(Korean Dramas on Netflix) is a fast-paced mystery thriller that unfolds against the backdrop of the corrupt, conspiratorial, and criminal culture of the Korean Prosecution. It features some of the sharpest writing now found in K-Dramas.

Hwang Si-mok (Cho Seung-woo) is a cunning and morally upright prosecutor who was partially lobotomized as a youngster, rendering him incapable of feeling anything. In the first episode, Hwang Si-mok is on his way to meet a man who wants to speak with him privately when he discovers that the man has been murdered in his own home. With the assistance of police officer Han Yeo-jin (Bae Doona), he begins looking into his own death and learns unsettling details about the Prosecution Office’s involvement in this seemingly routine murder.

Nevertheless (2021) – IMDB rating 7.2/10

Storyline: A hesitant romantic cynic is persuaded to enter a friendship-with-benefits relationship by the seductive appeal of a flirting art school classmate.

Nevertheless(Korean Dramas on Netflix), it might have been fantastic. JTBC’s most recent weekend release appeared to be a surefire hit thanks to an outstanding music, some nice ideas, and a few progressive relationship beats. And for the first few episodes, it was unquestionably headed in that direction. The rest of the series was then broadcast.

Say what you will about Nevertheless and its concepts of young love, but this show’s conclusion is among the worst of the year. No spoilers, of course, but it’s formulaic, worn out, and gives the audience a variety of contradictory messages about what the true message of this programme is.

The plot itself is set in an art college. Na-Bi is a young sculptor who wants to establish a reputation for herself. She rapidly finds friends at school, including the eccentric Bit-Na, the vivacious Ji-Wan, and the perceptive Sol. A few men, like Kyu-Hyun and Jae-Eon, are also included in the friendship group.

The Silent Sea (2021) – IMDB rating 6.9/10

Storyline: Space explorers attempt to gather materials from an abandoned research facility steeped in top-secret information during a dangerous 24-hour mission on the moon.

The cast of The Silent Sea(Korean Dramas on Netflix), which included Bae Doona and Gong Yoo (hello, Train to Busan and Goblin fans), the screenplay, which was written by Park Eun-kyo (who also wrote Mother for Bong Joon-ho), and the fact that it was adapted from the well-received 2014 short film Sea of Tranquility by the same director, Choi Hang-yong, all contributed to its high anticipation.

The Silent Sea - 2021 Korean web series Netflix - cast & crew

The sci-fi series’ eight episodes are set in the future: Water is so limited that it is distributed according to social standing and the Earth is dying. An elite crew is dispatched on a perilous 24-hour mission to recover a mysterious material left behind on the government’s lunar research outpost, where 117 workers perished in an incident, in order to find a solution. When the team learns the truth about this enigmatic material and its function, the objective abruptly changes.

My Name (2021) (Korean Dramas on Netflix) – IMDB rating 7.8/10

Storyline: A lady driven by retribution joins the police service at the command of a prominent crime leader after her father is murdered.

The thrill of witnessing Han So-hee beat up hordes of men with impressive finesse in My Name is only made better by the fact that she also portrays a bewildered college girl in Nevertheless, which was released earlier in the same year.

The eight-episode drama is refreshingly brief and chronicles Yoon Ji-(Han woo’s So-hee) visceral trek into the underground in order to uncover the truth about her father’s death and wreak retribution.

Despite being rather predictable, My Name contains masterfully choreographed action sequences, poignant training montages, and compelling character arcs. This one is for you if you want a straightforward revenge drama that doesn’t meander.

Kingdom (2019) – IMDB rating 8.3/10

Storyline: The crown prince becomes the kingdom’s only defence against a mysterious plague engulfing the realm as weird stories about their sick monarch spread throughout the land.

Is it already obvious that I adore Bae Doona? This six-episode series, which is based on the webcomic The Kingdom of Gods(Korean Dramas on Netflix), masterfully combines suspense, political satire, and zombie horror.

The drama’s apparent death heralds the start of the 1600s Joseon era in Korea, when the kingdom’s monarch reigned. But it soon becomes evident that the monarch had a nasty illness that not only caused him to ‘die,’ but also led him to awaken at night as a flesh-eating monster. Things spiral out of control when a tiny village in the south of the kingdom unintentionally picks up the illness, causing hordes of devastated corpses to rise up.

The show features engrossing action scenes, gorgeous photography, and the best costumes in addition to some fantastically intricate flesh-eating images. Ju Ji-hoon, Kim Sung-kyu, and Ryu Seung-ryong give superb performances in the programme in addition to Bae Doona. Netflix also offers streaming access to the show’s second season as well as the one-off episode Kingdom: Ashin of the North.
