In a recent interview with Total Film magazine, Levy disclosed that Season 5 is poised to be a major blockbuster, on par with some of the film industry’s biggest productions. While the precise storyline details for the upcoming season are being kept under wraps, one confirmed aspect is the reappearance of Jamie Campbell Bower as Vecna, a formidable being from the Upside Down. Vecna’s enigmatic connection to Eleven hints at exciting and captivating developments.
“There’s no way to be contiguous with Season 4, and not, frankly, expand scale and depth. It’s major, major, cinematic storytelling that happens to be called a TV series. Stranger Things 5 is as big as any of the biggest movies that we see.”
Stranger Things combines elements reminiscent of beloved 80s science fiction classics like Back to the Future and Alien. This blend resonated not only with those who cherished iconic movies from that era but also struck a chord with a new generation of viewers. In a recent conversation with Variety, director Dan Trachtenberg highlighted that Stranger Things deviates from the typical television season structure found in series like Game of Thrones. He emphasized that the show doesn’t follow the pattern of starting strong, slowing down, and culminating in major battles.
On another note, Joe Keery, most recognized for his role as Steve Harrington, has recently opened up about his complex emotions as the series nears its eagerly awaited conclusion. During an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Keery conveyed his mixed feelings about saying goodbye to a project that has been instrumental in defining his career.
“It does feel like it’s time. It won’t be easy for it to end,” Keery said. “I mean, I owe my whole career to being on that show and all the opportunities that I had since are because of that show. So it’s very convoluted. There’s a sense of relief, there’s a sense of sadness. I guess my goal is to just really soak it up as much as I can while we’re doing it, and not take any of it for granted because it’s been an amazing ride with such great people. And then once it’s done, move forward and try to just hold on to the joy that we had when we were making it…. Everything has a beginning and the middle and an end. It’ll be nice to have the end of this too.”
Despite the postponement, there remains a high level of excitement surrounding the forthcoming season. Viewers can anticipate the comeback of beloved characters, as well as the inclusion of Linda Hamilton, renowned for her part in The Terminator, in a yet-to-be-revealed new character.
