Every Movie Coming to Theaters in November 2023

The Marsh King’s Daughter (Nov. 3)

“The Marsh King’s Daughter” is an upcoming intense thriller film adapted from Karen Dionne’s novel. Directed by Neil Burger, known for his work on “Divergent,” the movie stars Daisy Ridley, famous for her portrayal of Rey Skywalker in Star Wars, and Ben Mendelsohn, recognized for his role as Talos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The plot revolves around Helena Pelletier, a young woman who grew up in the Michigan marshes under the care of a reclusive individual named Jacob Holbrook. However, they were separated when he was arrested for multiple crimes. Years later, when she discovers her father’s prison break, Helena is resolute in safeguarding her family, well aware of her father’s dangerous nature.

The Marvels (Nov. 10)

Marvel’s trajectory seems to have stumbled a bit post Phase 3, but there have been a few bright spots like “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Shang-Chi: The Legend of the Ten Rings,” and series like “Loki” and “Moon Knight” that are trying to revive the franchise’s former glory. “The Marvels” is another potential Phase 5 movie in the works, where Carol Danvers, having regained her identity from the Kree, encounters a multiversal danger. However, after going through a strange wormhole, her powers become linked with Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau, who is now part of S.A.B.E.R. The three of them must join forces to understand this unique situation and save the universe from a formidable threat.

Napoleon (Nov. 24)

Ridley Scott’s forthcoming biographical movie “Napoleon,” featuring Joaquin Phoenix of “Joker” and “Gladiator” fame, delves into the journey of Napoleon Bonaparte’s ascent to power and his tumultuous marriage. With a rich history of iconic films such as “Blade Runner,” “Gladiator,” and “The Martian,” Scott’s loyal fan base has set the bar high for this upcoming release.

The film is set to be distributed by Apple Studios, with plans for a limited theatrical release before it becomes available on Apple TV+. Anticipations are running high for potential Academy Award nominations in the next year, and there’s a possibility of a win if Joaquin Phoenix’s performance and Ridley Scott’s directorial prowess maintain their usual excellence.

Disney’s Wish (Nov. 22)

It’s been a century since Disney, founded by the Disney Brothers, Walt and Roy, first emerged as a pioneering animation studio. Over the years, they’ve created a wealth of beloved classics, such as Pinocchio, The Little Mermaid, and Bambi. To mark their 100th anniversary, the studio is planning a unique film called “Wish.”

Drawing from the iconic Disney motif of the wishing star, this new film unfolds in the imaginary realm of Rosas, where a seventeen-year-old named Asha makes a heartfelt wish upon a star to protect her community from looming darkness. However, things take an unexpected turn. Instead of her wish being immediately granted, the star descends to the ground. Alongside her loyal pet companion, Valentino, and the newly fallen wishing star, Asha embarks on a quest across the kingdom to find a way to avert the impending disaster.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (Nov. 17)

“The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” is an eagerly awaited prequel to the beloved Hunger Games series, offering a glimpse into a vastly different world 64 years before the original films. The story centers on 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow, who, before his rise as the oppressive President of Panem, is the last hope for his once-prominent family now fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With the 10th annual Hunger Games on the horizon, Snow is taken aback when he’s tasked with mentoring Lucy Gray Baird, the female tribute from impoverished District 12. Lucy Gray’s defiant singing during the reaping ceremony captures the attention of all of Panem, giving Snow hope that he can manipulate the odds in their favor. As they combine their flair for spectacle and newfound political acumen, Snow and Lucy engage in a race against time for survival, ultimately revealing who can be trusted and who might betray them in this high-stakes game of power and cunning.

Trolls Band Together (Nov. 17)

“Trolls Band Together” is the third installment in the Trolls film series, following “Trolls World Tour” and the original “Trolls” from 2016. These movies are musical comedies that use existing songs to create new storylines centered around the iconic troll dolls, which were a major craze in the early 1960s in the US.

Poppy and Branch, who have become a couple since the first two films, have grown closer. However, Poppy discovers that behind Branch’s cheerful facade, there is a mysterious and troubling past. It turns out that Branch used to be a member of BroZone, a popular boy band that disbanded for unknown reasons.

When Branch learns that one of his former bandmates, Floyd, has been abducted by the formidable pop-star villains Velvet and Veneer, Poppy and Branch set out on a quest to rescue Floyd before it’s too late.
