The iconic motto of the Jedi Knights, “May the Force be with you,” underscores the central role of the Force in the Star Wars universe. However, there is some ambiguity about the nature of the Force. Is it a divine power, a tangible energy field, or a product of midi-chlorians concentration? Nevertheless, the Force is intrinsically linked to the Jedi, as they strive to be in harmony with it.

However, not all Jedi seem to maintain a strong connection with the Force. Throughout the series, there are instances where the Force appears elusive to them. This is not limited to novice Padawan learners; even some highly esteemed Jedi masters have demonstrated a need for additional training or participation in guided meditation sessions led by Yoda. Here, we highlight the Star Wars saga’s least proficient Force users.

10 Weakest Force Users in Star Wars

Aayla Secura

Aayla Secura, a Twi’lek Jedi Master hailing from the Ryloth system, was renowned for her formidable combat skills and swift fighting style, earning her a place among the Jedi Council’s most powerful members. Throughout the Clone Wars, she dutifully served as a general in the Republic’s military, engaging in critical battles. However, her path led her to Felucia, a lush system controlled by separatist forces.

When Palpatine issued the order to execute Order 66, Aayla Secura’s clone troopers exchanged knowing glances, signaling the grim task they were assigned. For someone attuned to the Force, this nonverbal communication should have raised alarms, but she failed to sense the impending danger, captivated momentarily by the presence of a bird-like creature that crossed her path. This brief lapse in vigilance had dire consequences, as she was fatally shot from behind without the chance to react. This incident underscores the importance of maintaining a strong connection to the Force and not allowing even the slightest distractions to compromise one’s situational awareness in life-threatening situations.

Bene

When Order 66 was initiated by Darth Sidious, he tasked Darth Vader with leading a group of clone troopers to assault the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. This was a strategic maneuver designed to eliminate any immediate resistance from the Republic. Among the defenders that night were numerous Padawan learners, as most of the Jedi Masters were scattered throughout the galaxy serving as generals in the Republic’s army. Bene, one of these Padawans, found herself facing Darth Vader. She couldn’t comprehend why Master Skywalker, who had once been a respected figure, now regarded her with hatred and betrayal. Unfortunately, she was swiftly strangled by Vader before she could even put up a proper defense using her lightsaber. The security cameras in the Jedi Temple recorded this encounter, revealing her inadequacies in mastering the Force.

Bolla Ropal

In the Clone Wars animated series, Bolla Ropal, a Rodian Jedi Master, was introduced as a kind and compassionate mentor who openly acknowledged that he wasn’t one of the Order’s most powerful members. Despite lacking exceptional combat skills, Ropal possessed a unique gift in the form of Force vision, enabling him to foresee the future in Force-sensitive individuals.

Master Ropal was assigned the crucial task of safeguarding a kyber memory crystal containing the identities of many Force-sensitive children across the galaxy. However, his abilities did not help him anticipate the threat posed by the notorious bounty hunter Cad Bane. To his tragic downfall, Ropal failed to foresee Cad Bane’s approach, leading to his capture, torture, and eventual death at the hands of the ruthless bounty hunter. Despite the brutal treatment, Ropal refused to unlock the holocron containing the sensitive information he had sworn to protect.

Coleman Trebor

The Battle of Geonosis, which marked the start of the Clone Wars, saw a significant group of Jedi Knights departing from Coruscant to rescue Obi-Wan Kenobi from potential execution in an arena resembling a gladiator event. Among these Jedi was Coleman Trebor, a Jedi Master known for his preference for diplomatic solutions over combat, even though he was highly skilled with a lightsaber. However, in this battle, the situation called for a more aggressive approach, and Master Trebor joined the fight with a determined spirit. He even attempted to launch an attack on Count Dooku, who was observing the battle alongside separatist leaders from a balcony. Unfortunately, Trebor’s Force sensitivity failed to detect the presence of Jango Fett, who shot him multiple times with his blaster. Helpless, Trebor had no choice but to fall to his death in the arena.

Agen Kolar

Agen Kolar, a Zabrak Jedi Master and member of the Jedi High Council, was known for his fierce and impulsive combat style, often relying on his lightsaber to resolve conflicts. He had earned the respect of influential Council members like Mace Windu, who enlisted him for a last-minute mission to remove Palpatine from the High Chancellor’s position before it was too late.

However, Kolar’s combat skills failed him when they were most critical. When Palpatine unexpectedly revealed his concealed lightsaber and attacked the Jedi knight, Kolar’s defenses proved inadequate, and he was struck down with ease, seemingly lacking the basic skills of a lightsaber wielder. It’s possible that the Sith’s malevolent presence may have disrupted Kolar’s senses, rendering the Force ineffective in aiding him during this crucial moment.

Snoke

In the sequel trilogy, Supreme Leader Snoke was introduced as the primary antagonist, portrayed as a mysterious and grotesque character with a deep understanding of the Force and Sith teachings. He successfully seduced a young Ben Solo to the dark side, ultimately giving rise to Kylo Ren and launching a campaign to conquer the galaxy with the First Order, an achievement that even the once-mighty Galactic Empire couldn’t accomplish.

Despite Snoke’s significant Force sensitivity, he faced a critical failure at a most inconvenient moment. When Kylo Ren brought Rey before him, Snoke became consumed by a frenzied desire to torture her. This obsession caused him to overlook his apprentice’s telekinetic manipulation of Rey’s lightsaber, positioning it towards his own body. In a sudden turn of events, Kylo Ren ignited the lightsaber, cutting Snoke in half and killing him instantly.

Saesse Tiin

Saesse Tiin, a Jedi Master hailing from the moon of Iktotch, was a highly regarded member of the Jedi High Council. Renowned for his exceptional lightsaber skills and remarkable prowess as a pilot, he had earned his reputation as one of the Order’s finest warriors. Despite his impressive abilities, Saesse Tiin maintained a calm and reserved demeanor, preferring to let his actions and skills speak for him rather than seeking recognition.

Given his exceptional talents, it was only natural that Mace Windu selected Saesse Tiin as one of the Jedi tasked with the grave responsibility of apprehending Chancellor Palpatine after learning of his true identity. However, it was a tragic turn of events as Tiin’s Force abilities appeared to have abandoned him when he faced Palpatine, resulting in his downfall during Palpatine’s second strike. Specifically, he fell victim to the deadly backswing that had just claimed the life of Master Agen Kolar.

Jocasta Nu

Jocasta Nu, the Chief Librarian of the Jedi Archives, was undoubtedly one of the most knowledgeable Jedi of her era. During a long period of galactic peace, she did not prioritize honing her lightsaber skills. She managed to survive the initial onslaught of the Great Jedi Purge and fled with crucial information about Force-sensitive children across the galaxy. Unfortunately, Vader eventually located and killed her, but not before she persuaded him to destroy the data instead of handing it over to the Emperor.

Despite her well-intentioned nature, Jocasta displayed a limited connection to the Force on one notable occasion. In “Attack of the Clones,” when the Jedi Archives were tampered with to conceal the location of the Kamino system, she responded with arrogance, stating that “if it was not there, it did not exist.” Regrettably, she not only failed to prevent the archives from being tampered with but also failed to sense that something was seriously amiss.

Sha’a Gi

Sha’a Gi’s role within the realm of Jedi arts extended far beyond mere lightsaber combat and wielding the Force. He possessed exceptional proficiency in computer systems, which made him a valuable asset during the Clone Wars, primarily dedicated to intelligence gathering and disrupting pirate activities. In essence, he could be considered a “Jedi hacker.”

However, during a dire situation on the planet Hypori, Sha’a Gi, along with his master Daakman Barrek and a small group of Jedi, found themselves in a perilous standoff against a formidable droid force led by the fearsome General Grievous. Tragically, when Daakman Barrek fell to the hands of General Grievous, Sha’a Gi was overcome by panic. He hastily rushed out of their shelter, brandishing his lightsaber in desperation. This ill-fated decision led to General Grievous ruthlessly dispatching him, as the relentless droid general’s massive metallic form crushed Sha’a Gi to his demise.

Shaak Ti

Shaak Ti, renowned for her wisdom and Jedi Council membership, was a Togruta Jedi master known for her deep understanding of Jedi teachings. She was a formidable combatant who survived the Battle of Geonosis and served as a general for the Republic Army. However, when Order 66 was issued and the Jedi Temple was under attack, Shaak Ti’s actions raised questions. Instead of leading a counteroffensive to aid the inexperienced Padawans, she opted to meditate and await Darth Vader’s arrival, allowing the younglings to be harmed in the process. When confronted by Vader, Shaak Ti made no attempt to resist and allowed herself to be killed. It remains uncertain whether she could foresee the subsequent events, but it is a fact that Shaak Ti did not confront the malevolent forces that would disrupt the balance of the Force for many years to come.
