The artist known as mrleeee has crafted a captivating poster that unites six different real-life portrayals of Batman, featuring actors like Robert Pattinson, Val Kilmer, and George Clooney.

Regrettably, the latest installment in The Flash movie franchise failed to seize a significant chance for a thrilling crossover between Michael Keaton’s Batman and Ben Affleck’s Batman, leaving fans disheartened.

However, with James Gunn taking the reins of the DC universe’s future, there is optimism that the concept of a multiverse will be delved into more deeply, opening up opportunities for storytelling that connects various dimensions and forges unique alliances.

In an era dominated by the multiverse theory within the superhero genre, Batman’s traditional image as a lone, serious crimefighter undergoes a remarkable transformation, reaching new, breathtaking levels of imagination. The very fabric of the universe has bent, granting us an intriguing peek into a dimension where multiple versions of Bruce Wayne come together, united in their determination to protect Gotham City’s shadowy streets. This narrative unfolds in a style reminiscent of the Spider-Verse, skillfully brought to life by the talented artist known as mrleeee.

In this captivating visual story, we witness a unique gathering of six different live-action portrayals of Batman, creating a momentous convergence. It’s as if the poster has magically brought together the iconic interpretations of Batman by Robert Pattinson, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Michael Keaton, and Ben Affleck, showcasing their individual takes on the legendary DC character.

This stunning piece of art highlights a missed opportunity in the DC cinematic universe. Despite the widespread excitement surrounding the concept of multiverses, a trend significantly popularized by the ongoing Multiverse Saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, DC seemed to have overlooked a golden opportunity in their summer blockbuster, “The Flash.” While the film delved into alternate realities and brought back the beloved Michael Keaton’s Batman through Barry Allen’s time-traveling adventures, it failed to deliver the potentially earth-shattering crossover moment that Batman fans had been eagerly anticipating.

This became particularly noteworthy with the reintroduction of Keaton, marking his significant return after appearing in Tim Burton’s Batman films. The stage was perfectly set for an epic encounter between Keaton’s Batman and Affleck’s Batman, a moment that had the potential to become a memorable part of cinematic history, connecting two generations of DC fans and providing them with an incredibly unforgettable experience. However, the movie took a somewhat uncertain direction by including VFX cameos that didn’t quite connect with the audience and a cameo by Clooney, a decision that has left Batman enthusiasts puzzled, considering his less popular portrayal in previous live-action adaptations.

Unfortunately, as Ben Affleck possibly takes on the role of Batman for the last time, it feels like a missed opportunity to create a story where Batman encounters different versions of himself, coming together to explore the various aspects of his character and history beyond his typically solitary nature.

However, there is optimism as James Gunn is set to lead the future of the DC universe, especially with the establishment of DC Studios. There is a strong sense of anticipation for what’s to come. Gunn has plans for the Batman character in this evolving DC universe, raising hopes that the concept of a multiverse might return to the big screen. This could involve stories that transcend different realities, connect different timelines, and lead to unique alliances between characters.

The Batman Star and Director Tease the Evolution of Catwoman

During the recent DC FanDome event, Zoë Kravitz and director Matt Reeves discussed the upcoming movie “The Batman” and provided insights into the development of the iconic character Catwoman. Similar to the Dark Knight’s early years portrayal, the film will introduce a younger version of Catwoman, laying the groundwork for her character’s evolution.

Zoë Kravitz expressed her understanding of the significance of Catwoman as a character and her importance to fans. However, she emphasized the importance of focusing on the current story they are telling. She aims to create a fully fleshed-out and relatable human character rather than a mere concept. Kravitz wants Catwoman to feel like a real person navigating the challenges of a genuine city, dealing with her own pain and history. In essence, her goal is to bring depth and authenticity to this specific moment in the character’s life.

Kravitz, who plays Selina Kyle (Catwoman) in “The Batman,” emphasized her commitment to creating a multi-dimensional character rather than relying on past portrayals. She aimed to bring depth and humanity to Selina as the character evolves into Catwoman throughout the film.

Director Matt Reeves shared the importance of giving Selina her own unique story within the Batman universe, one that connects to the comics but presents a fresh perspective.

“The Batman,” directed by Matt Reeves and written by him and Peter Craig, reboots the DC franchise, showcasing Batman in his second year as a crime fighter. The film follows Batman as he uncovers corruption in Gotham City tied to his family and faces the enigmatic Riddler.

The cast includes Robert Pattinson as Batman, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as The Penguin (Oswald Cobblepot). These insights were shared during a recent DC FanDome event.
