Disney has revealed special collector’s editions for the blockbuster movies Avatar and its sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water. These editions will feature extensive behind-the-scenes insights, including a “Behind-The-Scenes Presentation” hosted by Jon Landau, providing a detailed look at the filmmaking process. Avatar: The Way of Water, exploring the Na’vi-human relationship, will include a special feature hosted by Jon Landau, delving into the innovative techniques used to transport audiences back to Pandora. Alongside this announcement, Disney revealed the release of James Cameron’s Aliens, The Abyss, and True Lies on 4K UHD for the first time. Directed by James Cameron, Avatar is set on the vibrant alien world of Pandora, where the Na’vi people coexist with humans through Avatars. The film’s success at the box office, earning almost $3 billion, solidified Cameron’s reputation for creating blockbuster events. The sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, continued this success, surpassing $2 billion in box office revenue. Set over a decade after the first film, it follows the Sully family’s story, exploring their challenges, battles for survival, and enduring tragedies. The cast includes Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Kate Winslet, and talented newcomers.

What Special Features Will Be Included in the Collector’s Editions of Avatar & Avatar: The Way of Water?
The special collector’s edition of Avatar will feature exclusive content, including a behind-the-scenes presentation hosted by Jon Landau, unlocking cinematic secrets of the movie. Additionally, Colonel Miles Quaritch’s RDA Promos will provide an inside look at the RDA. Other special features include discussions with the cast about returning to Pandora for Avatar: The Way of Water, a production design panel, deleted/extended scenes, scene deconstruction, and various production materials. The release also includes insights into the film’s editing, 3D technology, virtual camera, and visual effects.
