Huma Qureshi, whose upcoming movie is called “Double XL,” recently spoke out against fat shaming and for body positivity in the media. Huma said that the issue with unrealistic beauty standards is extremely deeply established in us. “People look at women’s bodies and use dismissive words,” says Huma Qureshi.

Huma added, “The problem is so deeply ingrained in us that body shaming erodes someone’s confidence,” when discussing the difficulty that women deal with every day. The actress continued, “They start a constructive conversation when they produce a movie about it and utilize their position as actors to bring awareness.”
Huma continued by saying that rather of producing a documentary, they wanted to create a fun movie that would alter people’s perspectives. The actress also discussed gaining weight for the movie, “I put on weight to make this movie. For these flicks, I pushed my physical, mental, and spiritual limits. You’re going to have a tremendous surprise, I can tell you that much.”

On the upcoming project, Huma Qureshi will be seen in Maharani 2, with Amit Sial and Sohum Shah. Besides that Huma has signed for “Double XL” with Sonakshi Sinha,”Monica, O My Darling” with Radhika Apte and Rajkummar Rao, and the actress will also be playing the role of Tarla Dalal in “Tarla.”
