On Friday, the Nehru Indoor Stadium Jailer movie audio launch was held, starring Rajinikanth and directed by Nelson. The cast and crew of the movie, which featured Tamannaah, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Ramya Krishnan, music director Anirudh, and producer Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures, attended the event in addition to hundreds of fans.
Rajini claimed during the launch that he had turned down numerous scripts after Annaatthe because they were too similar to those for his earlier flicks Baasha and Annamalai. He also discussed the online harassment Nelson experienced after the release of Beast and made the point that, despite receiving numerous calls from distributors requesting him to alter the director of his subsequent movie, he had discovered that Beast wasn’t a financial loss for the studio and the distributors. He continued by saying that he had made up his mind to work with Nelson, and they had moved forward with Jailer.
Rajini also discussed his past struggles with alcoholism, calling them the worst mistakes of his life. He urged his followers to abstain from regular drinking since it would harm their well-being and health. The seasoned actor also mentioned that he initially enjoyed the song “Hukum” and requested that the creators remove the “superstar” tag from the song’s music video. He noted that the tag has been an issue for him consistently.
Anirudh performed songs from the movie at the event, and Tamannaah danced to the popular tune “Kaavaalaa.”
Alongside Yogi Babu and Vasanth Ravi, Jailer also features Mohanlal, Sunil, Mirnaa Menon, and. The movie is slated to debut on August 10.
