Introduction:
Its normal to get movies from source language dubbed or remade to another language. While many such dubbed and remake movies are considered to be far behind from the original movie, there are some instances where case is entirely difference. There are some remade movies that are considered to be at par to the original movie or even better than the original movies. Here are a few Tamil remake movies that is a hit and successful just like the original movie or even more.
Chandramuki (2005):
“Chandramukhi” is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language horror-comedy film directed by P. Vasu. It is a remake of “Manichitrathazhu”, the Malayalam original movie. Starring Rajinikanth, Jyothika, and Nayanthara, the film revolves around a psychiatrist investigating paranormal occurrences in a haunted mansion. Its is well known fact that the movie “Paapanasam” is a remade version of Malayalam original movie named “Dhrishyam” “Paapanaasam” is a gripping Tamil drama-thriller film released in 2015, directed by Jeethu Joseph. Starring Kamal Haasan and Gauthami, the film centers on an ordinary man who gets entangled in a web of lies and deceit after a tragic incident. Vasool Raja MBBS (2004):
“Vasool Raja MBBS” is a side-splitting Tamil comedy film starring Kamal Haasan. This Tamil remake movie finds it origin from the Hindi Movie “Munna Bhai M.B.B.S”. The plot follows Raja, a debt collector with dreams of becoming a doctor to fulfill his father’s wishes. Through hilarious mishaps, he manages to enter medical college under false pretenses. The Tamil version is said to be even better than the original version by Kamal Haasan’s comedic brilliance and witty dialogues. Nenjuku Needhi (2022):
“Nenjuku Needhi” (Justice for the Heart) is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language political drama film directed by Arunraja Kamaraj and produced by Boney Kapoor. A remake of the 2019 Hindi film Article 15, it stars Udhayanidhi Stalin, Aari Arujunan, Tanya Ravichandran, and Shivani Rajashekar. The film revolves around an upright police officer taking a courageous stand against India’s deeply entrenched caste system. He launches an attack on caste-based discrimination and other crimes that often go unaddressed, sparking a battle for justice. Watch Now.
Thozha (2016):
“Thozha” is a heartwarming Tamil drama-comedy film released in 2016, directed by Vamshi Paidipally. This is a Tamil remaake movie of original French film The Intouchables (2011) made by Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache’s French. The film stars Karthi, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Tamannaah Bhatia in lead roles. It revolves around the unique friendship between a quadriplegic millionaire and his caregiver, who is an ex-convict. Their camaraderie, filled with laughter and life lessons, touches the hearts of viewers. “Thozha” delivers a beautiful message of compassion, acceptance, and the joy of living life to the fullest.
