Cobra is a Tamil action-thriller film written and directed by R. Ajay Gnanamuthu. The movie was made under the 7 Screen Studio label by S. S. Lalit Kumar. Irfan Pathan, an Indian cricketer, made his acting debut in this film, and Shetty, Khalid, and Mathew made their Tamil film debuts. A. R. Rahman created the music, while Harish Kannan handled the cinematography, and John Abraham and Bhuvan Srinivasan edited the film.

Cobra Movie Plot:
Aslan Yilmaz, a Turkish Interpol officer, and Judith Samson, a young criminologist, conclude that Cobra, who is renowned for carrying out faultless assassinations, is the mastermind behind the assassinations of Orissa’s chief minister and the Prince of Scotland. The team receives feedback on Cobra’s strategy. He uses mathematical prowess to end the lives of his victims, giving them the impression that he is a math professor. Their inquiry reveals that Cobra is Madhiazhagan “Madhi,” a mathematics professor with psychiatric problems, and that the victims share a relationship with corporate business tycoon Rishi. The plot’s central conflict is how Aslan, with Judith’s assistance, captures Cobra.

Appreciation and Critics:
The film is appreciated for Vikram’s exceptional acting, which is commendable as always, as well as for ARR’s soundtrack and the stunning VFX. The screenplay has numerous cinematic moments, but it lacks the epic proportions of KGF or Vikram. The editing is strong, although some of the more emotional parts drag on a bit, giving the impression that the film is longer than it actually is. Apart from that, Vikram’s commitment to his work, the cinematography, and the enchanting music by AR Rahman make the movie pretty enjoyable.

Before the official title was revealed, the project’s official announcement took place in May 2019 under the working title “Vikram 58.” Due to COVID-19, filming had to be put on hold for a period after it started in October 2019. The day before Vinayaga Chathurthi, August 31, 2022, saw the theatrical debut of Cobra.
