The first film by German director Lukas Nathrath, “One Last Evening,” about a young couple who throw a disastrous goodbye supper for friends before relocating, has won the Locarno Pro First Look Award.
Cinegrell, a production company with offices in Switzerland and Germany, will provide post-production services worth 51,469 USD as part of the Locarno Pro’s First Look Prize. The First Look lineup for this year featured six forthcoming German films. In addition, Sara Summa’s Arthur & Diana won the Le Film Français Award, which came with advertising services worth $5,764 USD. And Elaha by Milena Aboyan won the Kaiju Cinema Diffusion Prize, a prize worth $5,146 USD for the creation of an international poster.

Nathrath performed in numerous movies and television shows while still a teen. Nathrath entered the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in 2012 after finishing high school in Munich. She also completed a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies with a focus on film in Munich. At the Hamburg Media School, he went on to earn his master’s in film directing.
He received an invitation to the German Films’ Next Generation section at the 2018 Cannes Short Festival with his second-semester film, Mit im Bund. The European Young CIVIS Media Prize and the Studio Hamburg Young Talent Prize for outstanding short film went to his graduation film Kippa in 2019.
However, Tricia Tuttle, the director of the BFI London Film Festival, Vanja Kaludjercic, the creative director of the International Film Festival Rotterdam, and HUH Moonyung, the festival director of the Busan International Film Festival made comprised the awards jury.
