Happy Women’s Day

There are two powers in the world, one is sword and the other is the pen. There is a great competition and rivalry between the two. There is a third power stronger than both, that of women.

International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on 8th March annually, is a gentle reminder for all of us. Taking a moment out of our daily life and to appreciate the presence of wonderful women around us and those who are a part of our life. Whom we otherwise take for granted.

The theme for IWD2018 is Time is Now Rural and Urban activists transforming woman’s lives. The campaign #PressforProgress , launched with the aim to motivate and unite friends, colleagues and whole communities to think, act and be gender inclusive. The gender parity that has been evolving over these times needs a hundred more years to completely evaporate. It has been fueled by movements like #MeToo and #TimesUp in the recent days.

Although the word ‘man’ is just 60% of ‘woman’, the statistics sing a different song. Be it the workplace, politics or even education, the numbers are always depressing. We need a change. One that would not recognize a woman as a mere inferior being. We need to become this change.

We at Shortfundly, wish you all a very Happy Women’s day.

Presenting to you, a short film written by Patricia Noonan as a part of the Make it fair Project. A hilarious clip that flips the normal depressing gender statistics on their head. It makes you put on your thinking hat and gives a glimpse of the society we are heading towards.
