About Jimmikki Kammal Song English Version

Jimmiki Kammal has been on the top list for a while, isn’t it?

Kids, elders, Keralites, Other Indians, Foreigners, everyone seemed to enjoy the song.

For those who don’t know ‘Jimmiki kammal’ is a song from the Malayalam movie ‘Velipadinte pusthakam‘ composed by Shaan Rahman and sung by Vineet Sreenivasan and Renjith Unni.

In my opinion, there are a few points that helped the popularity of Jimikki Kammal.

Rhythm: People actually don’t care about the lyrics. It was not so long before when Despacito was in a loop on our devices. Jimikki also has a catchy rhythm which will catch attention easily. This was not the first time, remember our all time fav ‘Lajjavathiye’. Now don’t tell me you guys all knew the proper English lyrics of the song 😀

Dance seq: The film plot is set on a campus, and the song is actually a dance sequence of college students, which gave a vibrant feeling when watched.

Lyrics: Though non-Malayalis didn’t care about the lyrics, Malayalis do find the lyrics funny. The first two lines literally translate to ‘My father stole my mother’s earrings, my mother drunk my father’s brandy bottle!’ I know it is not that funny when translated. But still guys!

But the most important factor was Sheril-the dance girl.

Here’s Jimmikki kammal song English version

My Mother’s dangling earring
Was stolen by my Father.
My Mother drank to the bottom
My Father’s brandy bottle.

My Mother’s dangling earring
Was stolen by my Father.
My Mother drank to the bottom
My Father’s brandy bottle.

When a rich harvest
and a dance of warriors
came together here,
We thought of the time
when some people’s towels got ripped.
Don’t even try to pierce the ears
Of an angry sea wind.
You brave commander of the ‘Moral’ Army,
You old rake!

My Mother’s dangling earring
Was stolen by my Father.
My Mother drank to the bottom
My Father’s brandy bottle.

My Mother’s dangling earring
Was stolen by my Father.
My Mother drank to the bottom
My Father’s brandy bottle.

Lalala Laala Lala Laa
Lalala Laala Lala Laa

If a prawn tries to leap high,
it reaches your knee first.
If it tries again,
it falls into a cooking pot.
Don’t try to take us for a ride.
Don’t try your trick move.
Those who tried to spin us around
Ended up as round Zeroes.
Full of desire to see the light,
but too sheepish to step out in the sun.
The mask has slipped.
Go dress up for a new role.
When we went with a cross to Malayaattur Church
You came in as fierce a mountain
but had to scurry away like a mouse
Pitter-patter falls the sweet rain,
making the grime disappear.

My Mother’s dangling earring
Was stolen by my Father.
My Mother drank to the bottom
My Father’s brandy bottle.

My Mother’s dangling earring
Was stolen by my Father.
My Mother drank to the bottom
My Father’s brandy bottle.

When a rich harvest
and a dance of warriors
came together here,
We thought of the time
when some people’s towels got ripped.
Don’t even try to pierce the ears
Of an angry sea wind.
You brave commander of the ‘Moral’ Army,
You old rake!

My Mother’s dangling earring
Was stolen by my Father.
My Mother drank to the bottom
My Father’s brandy bottle.

My Mother’s dangling earring
Was stolen by my Father.
My Mother drank to the bottom
My Father’s brandy bottle.

Lalala Laala Lala Laa
Lalala Laala Lala Laa

In fact, Onam is a festival that is celebrated by Tamilians with equal pomp and show. Which is why the resonance of the song Jimikki Kammal in Thiruvananthapuram can also be felt in say, Chennai.

Ahead of Onam, a bunch of college students came up with a video performing on the song Jimikki Kammal from megastar Mohanlal’s film Velipandinte Pusthakam. So far, the video has has received more than 2 million views on YouTube.

This song has become more popular within College students , School students, MohanLal fans, etc.

Sheril is just an average looking malayali girl in my opinion but the way she dressed the way she danced and the way she carried herself was impressive. The sari suited her well and looked royal.

At the same time, the video of another girl from north Kerala became viral. But it went viral only inside Kerala because I think of the language barrier. (Search for “Sana Sudan Panam”). In this case, also the girl looked good. I would say much better but the innocent childish way in which we spoke also was attractive. I believe it didn’t go viral in Tamilnadu or outside Kerala because of the language barrier which was absent in the Sheril dance. hope you liked the Jimmikki Kammal Song English Version.
